Cathleen Jane Gomez, MD
Founder, Psychiatrist
Dr. Gomez is an integrative psychiatrist with a specialized focus on women’s mental health through midlife and beyond. With a strong foundation in evidence-based psychiatry and a growing expertise in integrative approaches, Dr. Gomez is passionate about helping women navigate the complex emotional and physical changes that often accompany perimenopause and post-menopause.
Dr. Gomez graduated from Ross University School of Medicine and completed her psychiatry residency at Richmond University Medical Center in New York. She went on to further specialize by completing an Integrative Psychiatry fellowship at the Integrative Psychiatric Institute.
Currently in the process of completing a certification in Integrative Women’s Health with a focus on hormonal transitions, Dr. Gomez combines conventional psychiatric care—including medication management—with lifestyle and functional approaches designed to support the whole person.
While Dr. Gomez has a particular focus on women’s health, she welcomes patients of all genders and ages 18 and older, providing compassionate, individualized psychiatric care tailored to each person’s unique needs.
Clinical Areas of Focus:
• Mood and anxiety symptoms during perimenopause/postmenopause
• Sleep disturbances, fatigue, and cognitive concerns
• Hormonal mood shifts and emotional dysregulation
• Depression and anxiety across the reproductive lifespan
• Whole-person medication management
• Integrative strategies: nutrition, supplements, movement, and mind-body practices
Treatment Philosophy:
"While medication is often an essential part of treatment, I also explore the underlying lifestyle and biological factors that contribute to emotional well-being. Mental health care should support both mind and body."
"Women deserve mental health care that honors the connection between the brain, body, and hormones. I aim to provide thoughtful, personalized care that helps my patients feel informed, supported, and empowered—at every stage of life."
Dr. Gomez partners with each patient to create individualized treatment plans that may include psychiatric medications, lab testing, nutritional guidance, targeted supplements, and collaboration with other providers (e.g., therapists, gynecologists, or functional medicine
practitioners).
Outside of clinical practice, Dr. Gomez is deeply committed to continuing education in women’s mental health and integrative medicine. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her family and friends, watching baseball and basketball and gardening.
